The role of Operations Manager is broad in its requirements and provides a challenging but rewarding working environment. Reporting to the board and supporting the Operations Director, the successful candidate will be required to adopt a continuous improvement approach, and be responsible for ensuring safe, environmentally sound, efficient and productive operations within the area of responsibility and for meeting operational and product quality targets.

As their Operations Manager, your day to day will include.
- Leading and developing the operations and engineering teams
- Promoting safe working practices and positive safety culture throughout the site
- P&L responsibility for the site including involvement in budgeting, analysis, and forecasting
- Maintaining compliance with waste management licences, consents, and other statutory requirements
- Ensuring effective planning, execution and recording of processing activities and material movements
- Identifying and implementing process improvements. Optimisation of work patterns and resources
- Ensuring effective plant maintenance
- Ensuring staff training and competency requirements are identified, delivered, and maintained.
- Leading and developing your workforce through your adaptive management style
- Encouraging collaboration with your team
- Making sure our people and operation is carried out safely – Safety is just the way you approach your work.
- Implements lean management and continuous improvement techniques- Inspiring others to improve productivity within the workforce
- Commercial and Customer-focused approach- You are a true advocate for Customer Service and making your operation a success
What you will need to bring to this Operations Manager’s job
- A track record of achievement in operational management in a plant or manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership and excellent interpersonal skills to build high performing teams
- P&L understanding and commercial acumen
- Negotiation and relationship management skills with colleagues, suppliers, customers and regulators
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to communicate at all levels
- Excellent organisational skills. Ability to plan and prioritise workload for self and team.
