An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated Health & Safety Officer to join their team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful Safety Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of safety, health, environmental, and quality practices across all company operations.
Your new job
- Creation and ongoing development of internal health and safety policies and procedures
- Developing secure operational safety guidelines
- Monitor training needs, ensure staff training is up to date, and make plans to ensure training is performed to the necessary standard.
- Oversee the necessary legislative inspections of the external plant
- Identifying strategies to lower risks and putting improvements in place
- Keeping track of and ensuring compliance with current health and safety requirements Recording and maintaining subcontractor onboarding paperwork and site management
- Making certain that equipment is set up properly and safely
- Investigating and documenting incidents, accidents, complaints, and cases of illness, and using that information to make recommendations
- Continuous production audits
- All staff members are regularly updated, including toolbox talks, safety presentations and new hire inductions.
What you’ll need for this job
- Relevant third-level qualification in Safety Management or a recognised qualification in health and safety such as NEBOSH, NVQ or NCRQ and three years’ experience supporting Health and Safety in a working environment on a manufacturing site.
- Experience in the operation of an Integrated HSEQ Management System in a production environment is essential.
- Knowledge and experience in the practical application of ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 standards
