Health and Safety Officer Job Co Tyrone

Location: Omagh, Co Tyrone

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

This premier supplier to the agri-food industry is seeking to appoint a dedicated Health and Safety Officer to be based at their Manufacturing Site in Omagh, Co Tyrone. This standalone role offers the opportunity to influence health and safety practices across multiple sites in Northern Ireland, Donegal, and Monaghan.

The job:

  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Company’s Health and Safety Management systems across all sites.
  • Conduct and regularly update comprehensive risk assessments.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety legislation in both Northern Ireland (NI) and the Republic of Ireland (ROI) by employees and contractors.
  • Provide expert advice on health and safety matters to managers and employees.
  • Carry out thorough investigations of accidents and near misses, identifying root causes and preventive measures.
  • Prepare monthly health and safety reports and compile health and safety statistics.
  • Conduct site inspections and deliver training sessions to employees to promote a safe working environment.
  • Ensure that contractors' codes of practice are up-to-date and strictly followed by all employees and contractors.

What you will need:

Minimum of two years’ experience in a Health and Safety role.

  • Hold a 3rd level qualification in a related discipline and a NEBOSH certificate. Candidates without a third-level qualification but with at least five years’ experience in a Health and Safety role will also be considered.
  • Proven experience in implementing and managing hazard identification and risk management processes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NI and ROI Health and Safety legislation.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing Health and Safety investigations.
  • Proficiency in managing and implementing Health and Safety management systems.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong ability to work independently within a dynamic work environment.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • A valid driving license and access to personal transport.
