The Job
Support the Health & Safety Manager in promoting a health and safety culture throughout the business. Ensure all staff adhere to current health and safety legislation.
Your role:
- Assist in the development of EHS strategies and action plans.
- Assist with the maintenance and development of management standards through EHS audits across the company.
- Support the introduction of companywide environmental, health & safety policies and procedures at site level and liaise with other business leaders.
- Fully investigate any incidents (accidents/near misses) and comprehensively complete all paperwork.
- Be responsible for the provision of Personal Protective Equipment and safety equipment as necessary.
- Act in an advisory capacity regarding health, safety, and environmental issues.
- Conduct toolbox talks.
- Carry out risk assessments.
- Conduct in-house training.
- Offer advice on current health and safety legislation.
- Maintain H&S records and all training records for staff.
What you’ll need
- Relevant third-level qualification in Safety Management or a recognised qualification in health and safety such as NEBOSH, NVQ
- 1+ years’ experience in a similar role, in a similar industry.
- Motivated and organised.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle confidential information and display complete discretion at all times.
