We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Health and Safety Officer to join one of Co Tyrone’s largest manufacturers. Based in Dungannon, Northern Ireland, and with three additional manufacturing facilities, they operate on a global scale.
Specialising in the design and production of a comprehensive range of specialist products, they tailor their product range to meet the distinctive needs of their international partners.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager to implement and maintain an effective HSE management programme.
Your focus will be on ensuring the protection of staff, contractors, visitors, and the environment. As an HSE Officer, you will be responsible for advising the business on appropriate procedures and acting as a dedicated Health, Safety, and Environmental ambassador.
Your new job
- Provide competent HSE advice and support to the company.
- Assist in ensuring the company meets its HSE statutory obligations, including compliance with the company's ISO management systems.
- Develop, implement, and review risk assessments, policies, and procedures.
- Undertake regular HSE checks, inspections, and audits, reporting findings accordingly.
- Source, plan, and deliver HSE training while maintaining suitable records.
- Coordinate the company health surveillance program, ensuring compliance.
- Investigate and report on incidents, ensuring recommended improvements are implemented.
- Contribute to and develop appropriate HSE initiatives as required by the HSE Manager.
What you’ll need
- Qualified in a Health, Safety, or Environmental Discipline.
- At least 1 year of experience in an HSE role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with ISO 14001 ideal.
- Professional approach coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft packages.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
