Join a dynamic Belfast-based organisation actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Officer to contribute to their team's success. The chosen candidate will be instrumental in overseeing Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) objectives within the company. Your new job
- Policy Development: Contribute to the creation, execution, and maintenance of SHEQ policies, practices, and initiatives, ensuring compliance with UK laws and industry standards.
- Performance Tracking: Analyse and track SHEQ performance measures, providing regular reports and suggestions for continuous improvement.
- Record-keeping: Maintain current and accurate records of all SHEQ reports, paperwork, and activities.
- Site Visits: Conduct on-site evaluations of project sites to assess specific risks, dangers, and environmental aspects.
- Documents Management: Regularly update and maintain project Health and Safety Files and associated documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with changing rules and project modifications.
- Risk Identification and Mitigation: Identify potential hazards related to health, safety, environment, and quality in projects and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
- Health & Safety Improvement: Drive improvements in Health and Safety Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Occupational health monitoring results.
- Audits and Inspections: Plan, conduct, and review health and safety audits and inspections.
- Key Management System Processes: Manage and support the implementation of key management system procedures to enhance SHEQ activities.
What you'll need,
- Relevant third-level qualification in Safety Management or a recognised qualification in health and safety such as NEBOSH, NVQ or NCRQ and two years’ experience supporting Health and Safety
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of industry best practices and UK legislation including experience in ISO 45001, 14001, 9001.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Influence: Proven ability to influence improvements in health and safety procedures.
