The Job:
The Health & Safety Advisor will assume a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of employees while maintaining a commitment to high standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of five years of experience in Health & Safety Management, with a comprehensive grasp of industry best practices.
Key responsibilities:
- Conducting on-site inspections, checks, audits, and toolbox talks to ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.
- Carrying out plant inspections and identifying opportunities for enhancing safety protocols.
- Managing and preserving the Integrated Management System (IMS), encompassing ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001.
- Collaborating with project teams to craft and implement safety plans and procedures.
- Offering guidance and support to employees, fostering a culture of safety and awareness.
- Engaging in incident investigations, conducting root cause analyses, and overseeing the implementation of corrective actions.
- Coordinating external audits and interfacing with auditors to ensure alignment with regulatory standards.
- Staying current with health and safety legislation changes and effectively communicating pertinent updates to the team.
- Developing and delivering training programs related to health and safety.
What you’ll need:
- Minimum of five years of Health & Safety Management experience.
- Familiarity with IMS systems, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 is highly advantageous.
- Prior experience in the construction industry, particularly in Demolition and Asbestos Removal, is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated proficiency in communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making aptitude.
- Willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
