
Health & Safety Officer Job Lisburn
Salary: £30,000 - £38,000

They are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and safety Officer to join their team and play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of their employees and the integrity of their operations.
Reporting to the Head of Compliance, the Health & Safety Officer will be responsible for providing guidance, support, and expertise in health, safety, and environmental matters. This role involves ensuring that their organisation complies with all applicable legal requirements, implementing control measures, and fostering a culture of safety throughout the company.
The Job
- Promote a culture of health, safety, and environmental awareness within the company.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of their Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Assist in setting health, safety, and environmental objectives, targets, and initiatives.
- Maintain a comprehensive training database and coordinate training programs.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure IMS compliance across all sites.
- Develop and update risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and safe working procedures.
- Investigate and report OH&S and environmental incidents, implementing corrective actions.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and site visits to monitor compliance.
- Manage statutory inspections, scheduling, and record-keeping.
What you’ll need
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a H&S Officer or equivalent.
- Previous experience in heavy manufacturing/engineering industries.
- Proficient in NI Health and safety legislation.
- Experience in preparing and delivering workshops/training.
- Self-motivated with strong planning and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- IT literate, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Full driving license and access to a car for travel to multiple NI sites.
- NEBOSH or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health & Safety.
- 3rd level qualification in a relevant discipline (i.e. Occupational health & safety, environmental health).
- Internal Auditor training – ISO45001 or equivalent.
