Health & Safety Officer (Immediate Start)

Dungannon – Commutable from Armagh – Craigavon – Cookstown - Omagh

Salary up to £22,800 per annum (£11.00 per hour)

I am currently working with a leading business in the Dungannon area who are looking to hire a Health & Safety Officer on a temporary basis for up to two months.

As the Health and Safety Officer, you will be responsible for the maintenance of H&S systems across the business. You will play a critical part in projects aimed at maintaining their H&S systems, improving compliance with legal requirements, and providing industry best practices.

You will work as part of the Operations team and collaborate with all other departments. You will play an integral role in providing H&S technical support to their team.

What they will offer you:

You will join a friendly, and progressive team. Initial training will be given, and you will be expected to get stuck in straight away. You will be paid weekly a rate of £11.00 per hour and on top of that you will receive holiday and pension contributions

As their Health & Safety Officer, your day to day will include.

  • Coordinating the risk assessment reports, highlighting reports that are due to expire and organising new assessments to be conducted
  • Assisting in the completion of person-specific risk assessments (Pregnancy, Occupational Health, Return-to-work, Covid etc.)
  • Assessing details of reported H&S incidents, & delegating responsibilities for investigation and remedial action
  • Collating and reviewing EHS documentation
  • Providing basic guidance on matters of H&S to the operations teams
  • Assisting the HR Manager with office and site inspections
  • Maintaining current and newly developed electronic EHS logs/databases
  • Administering the online H&S training platforms, including arranging induction training with new starters & monitoring the need for refresher training
  • Producing H&S performance reports and information bulletins to be sent to employees
  • Assisting in the production of fire safety procedures and training manuals for all departments

What you will need to bring to this Health & Safety Officers job

  • Professional H&S Qualification NEBOSH or NCRQ or Degree Level or Equivalent
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Desire to work within a health and safety role and the willingness to learn
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Solution orientated, always looking to solve problems efficiently
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously when required
