Group Head of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality

I currently partnered with one of Northern Irelands leading contractors based in the Mid Ulster region and they require a Group Head of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) to join their Senior Management team. With offices across Ireland and the UK, their portfolio ranges across education, industrial, healthcare, utilities infrastructure and hotels
The purpose of this role is to provide clear strategic leadership for Health, Safety & Environmental & Quality across the group. In this role, you will strategically lead and co-ordinate the many activities into a clear deliverable strategy.
Working in a high risk, complex, multi people environment, you will have a passion for SHEQ, ensuring the business understands the positive impact SHEQ has, and the importance it holds.
You will lead and inspire colleagues, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders through delivering a strategic vision; generating engaging communications; and implementing coordinated approaches to ensure excellence across safety and sustainability.
This is a rare opportunity to join their dedicated Senior Management team.
As Group Head of SHEQ, what you'll be doing:
Responsible for the implementation across the group of the SHEQ vision and compliance programmes, including management standards (i.e. ISO -14001 and ISO45001)
The constant review of professional resource and team structure, including technical expertise to incorporate the right size, right-minded team members to deliver in a post-COVID-19 environment
Accountability for effective change management, performance improvement and positive culture development
Analysing SHEQ key performance indicators (KPI's) data and reports, translating information into business improvement programmes
Leading a team (Technical Lead, Safety Manager, Audit)
To be successful in this role you MUST have?
A passion and love of what you do
Previous experience in a similar role managing and developing a team
Experience of working in a high-risk fast-moving environment
NEBOSH Diploma or Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational, Safety and Health with a minimum 10 years’ experience.
Auditor trained (preferably lead auditor, but not essential) Competent in IT skills and excellent report writing ability
Strong analytical, administrative and organisational skills and great attention to detail
