Key Responsibilities:
Champion of Sustainability: Be at the forefront of all environmental sustainability matters, driving a culture of environmental awareness throughout the organisation.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company remains fully compliant with all legislative requirements for environmental management.
Strategic Planning: Design and lead a comprehensive sustainability strategy and develop and implement relevant policies and procedures to achieve their sustainability goals.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Review and analyse environmental data, including carbon, waste, and water usage. Provide comprehensive and insightful reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
Carbon Footprint Reduction: Analyse their greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprint. Develop and implement effective reduction plans to minimise their environmental impact.
Risk Assessment: Conduct compliance and risk assessments to identify potential environmental hazards. Devise corrective action plans to ensure a safe and sustainable work environment.
Water Management: Oversee water usage within the business. Monitor and test inbound water sources to explore opportunities for water reuse and conservation.
The ideal Environmental Sustainability Manager will have the following skills and experience.
- A 3rd level qualification in a related discipline such as environmental sciences or sustainability management.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in carbon footprint reduction, energy efficiency reporting, GHG analysis, and environmental management systems (ISO 14001/BS8555).
- Proficiency in IT tools and strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to effectively engage with senior management, customers, and stakeholders to communicate and promote their environmental agendas.
- Previous project management experience and familiarity with environmental auditing processes.
